Marian Rivera Overtakes Angel Locsin for FHM 100 Sexiest Lead

Angel Locsin supporters are upset at the sudden drop of their idol in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women rankings. Apparently, Marian Rivera is now at the no. 1 spot and Angel Locsin no. 4.

In fact, a chain e-mail is circulating in the Philippines complaining about the sudden change of rankings and accusing that FHM may have a hand in manipulating the results. FHM, however, denies any manipulation of the votes. FHM also discourages cheating of stars paying off fans to vote incessantly by only allowing 10 text votes and 10 online votes per day per SIM and per user ID.

Apparently, sexy stars and actresses seriously vie for the title. They compete via the number of fan and supporter votes and then attend an annual gathering where more than a hundred of them strut the catwalk and only one gets the privilege of becoming crowned and hailed as the sexiest woman in the Philippines.

Endorsements: Marian Replaces Angel; Angel Replaces Claudine

Marian Rivera, who was catapulted to stardom after her Marimar soap on GMA-7, will now replace Angel Locsin, who switched to ABS-CBN last year, as the new JAG denim pants endorser.

Marian avoided to comment regarding the fact that she did replace Angel as the newest JAG endorser but rather conveyed her happiness that she was selected. Together with Marian, PBB graduate Will Devaughn, who she was partnered with before in Desparadas by Regal Entertainment, will accompany her for a JAG photo shoot in Australia with a tagline "Sexier and Hotter."

Apart from this JAG commitment, Marian Rivera also has six other endorsements lined up. But Angel and her management is not phased by this "competition" conjured up by the media and public. According to Angel's manager, Becky Aguila, it was time for Angel to let go of her "tweet-ums" image and is now in a need for a more grown-up, lady-like outfit. Hence her new endorsement with a garment company.

The news is that Angel Locsin is to replace Claudine Barretto as endorser of Folded & Hung. This will apparently better complement her new, more mature roles, such as the one in her current soap with Piolo Pascual, Lobo.

Marian Nag Taray sa Video

Marian Rivera made the celebrity news headline a few days ago with her "shocking" video of allegedly slapping, cursing, and yelling at a meddling onlooker.

Apparently, some guy was watching and videotaping Marian at the set of Dyesebel in a shooting at Subic. Marian didn't like that, and the guy refused to stop videotaping, so she had some words with the fellow.

According to Marian...

"Ganito yun," simula niya. "Nasa set kami sa Subic. Alam ng lahat na bawal ang mag-video lalo na kung hindi pa umeere ang episode. Nakita ko siyang [yung lalake sa YouTube] kumukuha ng video at biniro ko ng ‘Kuya, nagbi-video kayo, bawal ‘yan.' Ang sagot ba naman, ‘Bakit, ikaw ba ang bini-video ko?' Pakialam ko raw. Pabalang ang sagot at nagulat ako, nagkasagutan kaming dalawa.

Fair enough, I think. And people shouldn't be too shocked about how Marian reacted. A lot of artistas are mataray, so her pagwawala and pagmumura are nothing but normal. Even the most friendly actresses on television can be snobbish, like Korina Sanchez, Bernadette Sembrano, Regine Velasquez, and some have even said Judy Ann Santos.

Marian Denies Marina is Stale, but Dyesebel is Fresh

Word spread that Marian Rivera has grown big-headed due to her recent rise in popularity and top ratings yet again for her new soap Dyesebel.

She was quoted as calling Claudine Barretto's similar mermaid teleserye of the past, Marina, "bilasa" (stale). Apparently ABS-CBN is running reruns of Marina to try and compete with the new GMA-7 mermaid soap Dyesebel.

However, Marian denied insulting the opposing network's mermaid rendition, clarifying she only meant that Dyesebel was very fresh, which people then interpreted as meaning Marina was quite stale, or balisa.

And no one could deny the popularity of Marian's show and herself as well. She pulled in much attention with her previous soap Marimar, and was now doing the same with Dyesebel, which has been continuously high in ratings with Mega Manila and NUTAM.
