Next Filipino on Ellen Degeneres Show: Arnel Pineda

First to be invited on the Ellen Degeneres show was Charice Pempengco, and now it is Pinoy rocker / balladeer Arnel Pineda.

Arnel Pineda's ticket to fame is his brilliant renditions of Journey, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, Survivor, and other '70s, '80s, and '90s songs. In fact, his version of such songs were so similar to the original that Journey's guitarist, Neal Schon, noticed and took him up to be a part of the band.

And Arnel Pineda not only has his talent to thank but also YouTube, and the guy who uploaded his performances on the popular video-sharing site. Apparently, Ellen also got a glimpse of the rockista through YouTube and has invited him to be on the show (with Journey), so expect another Pinoy performance on an American show soon.

Ellen Degeneres, Portia de Rossi Gay Marriage

Ellen Degeneres has indeed confirmed her plan to marry her long time partner Portia de Rossi, 35, the former Ally McBeal star.

Ellen's announcement came after a recent California Supreme Court ruling, overturning a state ban on gay marriage, deeming it unconstitutional.

Degeneres and De Rossi have been a couple for four years and have been open with their same-sex /lesbian relationship, appearing on red carpets together at Hollywood events.

"I am announcng I am getting married," Ellen, 50, told her audience during Thursday's taping of The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Amidst wild cheers and a standing ovation, the talk show host joked, "Thank you. I'll tell you who the lucky guy is soon!"

Degeneres did not mention de Rossi,35, by name in her announcement, however the camera cut to the former Ally McBeal star in the audience, clapping and smiling.

"It is something of course that we have wanted to do and we wanted to be legal, and we are just very, very excited," Degeneres said.
