After the seemingly weak response to "Sana Maulit Muli" and the lack of immediate follow-up projects, many would have expected the Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson love team to have disintegrated. However, Kimerald fans must now be rejoicing with the "revival" of their favorite teenage team-up.
Apart from the new major endorsement with Smart Buddy for the two young artistas, their kasunod teleserye is a Pinoy remake of the hit Koreanovela My Girl. In that soap opera, Kim plays the happy natured, bubbly, energetic, and "kengkoy" Jasmine, while Gerald plays the part of Julian.
Gerald was actually not the automatic choice to play Julian. Many male artistas were taken into consideration for the role. But the directors, including co-director Jerome Pobocan, decided against severing the love-team, which already had a large fan base and following. "Why fix it if it ain't broke?" Pobocan pointed out.
In other Kimerald news, Gerald apparently purchased Kim Chiu a pink Ford Lynx as a present for her birthday. Although her father reportedly didn't favor the gift and wanted her to return it, Gerald was able to convince them otherwise.
